FACIAL AESTHETICS

As we age, our skin can become prone to wrinkles and a loss of elasticity. Dr Rhona Healey has undergone further postgraduate training in facial aesthetics, and is now running a clinic from our practice to offer treatments to help combat these changes.

Anti-wrinkle injections - a purified protein (botox) is injected to relax specific muscles and prevent the skin from creasing and wrinkling.

Dermal fillers - Hyaluronic acid is injected to help remove deeper lines, plump up your lips and add extra volume to areas of lost elasticity. 

VENEERS

A veneer is a cosmetic porcelain restoration that fits neatly and securely over the front surface of a tooth to hide little chips or discolouration. Veneers can also be used to disguise narrow gaps or a tooth that is slightly out of position.

WHITENING TREATMENT

With the use of custom made whitening trays and professional whitening gel we can help you achieve the bright smile you are after.

DENTAL CLEANING

ORAL CANCER SCREENING

IMPLANTS

Implants are generally the best way to replace missing teeth. We work closely with experienced implant surgeons in order to restore your smile.

The surgeon will place a titanium screw implant, which integrates with the bone over the next few months. Once the implant has integrated with the bone we can then attach a crown, bridge or denture to the implant, replacing your missing tooth or teeth.

FILLINGS

If you are unfortunate enough to develop a cavity in one of your teeth we may have to repair this with a filling. At Eden Dental Care we offer basic silver amalgam fillings as well as more aesthetic white resin fillings.

CROWNS

Sometimes a tooth can't be repaired with a simple filling. You may need a crown if:

• You have extensive decay or a very large filling

• your tooth is badly broken

• you have had root canal treatment

INLAYS AND ONLAYS

Inlays and onlays are used to repair teeth with cavities that are too large for a conventional filling. They are precision made out of metal or porcelain in a dental lab to fit your teeth and are then fixed to your tooth by your dentist.

BRIDGES

If you need to have a tooth removed there are a number of ways to fill the gap left. One of these ways is a bridge. This is precision made appliance which is cemented to one or both of the teeth on either side of the gap.

DENTURES

Removable dentures are custom made by a skilled dental technician. They are a good solution for replacing any missing teeth, and are available in a number of materials.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

If the inside part of your tooth (the pulp) becomes damaged due decay or injury we may have to perform root canal treatment. This involves removal of the damaged pulp and then placing a gutta percha filling that seals the root from the inside.

If the damaged pulp isn't dealt with then infection can spread into the bone and result in needing the tooth removed.

EXTRACTIONS

Although we always do what we can to help our patients keep their teeth sometimes this isn't possible. We may have to remove your tooth if:

• there is infection associated with it

• it has a cavity too large to repair

• it is giving you pain
